The field of public health offers a rewarding opportunity to make a significant impact on the health and well-being of communities and populations. There is a variety of public health career development opportunities and qualifications available.

If you do not already work in a public health role but would like to enhance your knowledge and skills in this area, there are a range of learning and development opportunities available to you. Some are virtual learning and others face to face.

Public health apprenticeships provide a new entry or development route across the public health system. In common with many practitioner roles, the title of the apprenticeship may differ depending on the specific focus of the role. Experience will be gained within the workplace over the 1 - 5 year apprenticeship period (depending on which type of apprenticeship). Apprenticeships are an option for anyone over 16 and are available from intermediate level 2 to degree level 7.
