Introducing the Greater Manchester Live Well Podcast

The trailer for a new home-grown series about public services doing things differently with communities is now live. The GM Live Well Podcast explores public services taking a new approach to ensure everyone gets the everyday support they need. It will discover what happens when our communities are trusted to lead and what systems can do to lend ‘a helping hand, not a hoop to jump through’.  The series unpacks this approach to prevention as a better way forward. What we call Live Well in Greater Manchester.

Big Local Unpacked - Learning Series

Big Local Unpacked is a new learning series from London Funders, developed in partnership with Local Trust, to reflect on one of England’s most ambitious community-led programmes as it comes to a close in early 2026. Big Local invested over £200 million in 150 neighbourhoods over 10-15 years, placing long-term funding and decision-making in the hands of residents. Across six sessions in 2026, the series will offer honest reflection on what really happened - what worked, what didn’t, and what funders and civil society can take forward - bringing together people involved in designing and delivering Big Local alongside funders, charities, infrastructure bodies and community organisations. The programme includes six themed online sessions, a visit to a London Big Local area, and tailored learning cohorts, with the first three free sessions focusing on setting the scene (5 February), turning ambition into reality (5 March), and inclusion, representation and participation in place-based work (13 April).

GM Live Well Festival

We’re excited to share an early heads-up - during the week commencing 9 March 2026, we’ll be hosting the GM Live Well Festival.

As always, this event will be co-designed with you - communities, partners and colleagues across Greater Manchester.

Building on the success of our March 2025 event ‘Growing Great Everyday Support in Every Neighbourhood’, which brought energy, connection and system-wide movement building, the 2026 Festival will be a space to learn, reflect, connect and celebrate the impact of Live Well across our communities.

What’s next:

  • Open space co-design session in November – open to anyone who wants to help shape the Festival.
  • Smaller co-design sessions from November at Live Well events, in teams and across GM.

Main ask for now:
Please keep the week free of major events so we can come together to showcase, celebrate and strengthen the Live Well movement.
