Veterans' Health

There are 2.03 million veterans across England, Wales, and Scotland, many of whom have specific medical needs that differ from the general population. Due to a reluctance to seek help or discuss their issues, veterans often do not take full advantage of available care, support, and treatments. They may feel that civilians lack an understanding of military culture or are unaware of the services and resources that could assist them. This course is designed to help primary care teams recognize and address the unique needs of veterans, while also highlighting available resources such as the RCGP Veteran Friendly GP Practice Accreditation Programme. The course was funded by NHS England as part of the RCGP Veteran Friendly Accreditation Programme, with editorial and content decisions made by the RCGP and NHS England.
