Introducing the Greater Manchester Live Well Podcast
The trailer for a new home-grown series about public services doing things differently with communities is now live. The GM Live Well Podcast explores public services taking a new approach to ensure everyone gets the everyday support they need. It will discover what happens when our communities are trusted to lead and what systems can do to lend ‘a helping hand, not a hoop to jump through’. The series unpacks this approach to prevention as a better way forward. What we call Live Well in Greater Manchester.
Hosted by our Mayor Andy Burnham, GM Shapers' Folashade Alonge and the GM Live Well team, the series comes from libraries and barber shops, food banks, music cafés, and women-led groups, grassroots mutual aid, community hubs and more. Instead of one-to-one chats, it takes a documentary-style approach, weaving together more than 100 voices from across our brilliant city region - you’ll hear stories of communities and public services working side by side to grow health, wealth and connection in Greater Manchester.
Eight episodes will be released weekly over the Autumn and Winter. Please do tune in and help us grow the movement by sharing with your friends, colleagues and neighbours and on your socials.

Episode 4 – 4/12/25 – Ours not mine: Growing community wealth through ownership and opportunity
Episode 5 – 11/12/25 – Trust and power: What public services can do to grow community power
Episode 6 – 18/12/25 – Striving not surviving: Community power in action
Episode 7 – 8/1/26 – From fixers to partners: When public services share power with communities
Episode 8 – 15/1/26 – Hope, power and prevention: The future of GM Live Well
